When the ground resembles more like the frozen tundra, the practice time with the horses becomes more limited. Training in winter conditions present its own challenges and difficulties, restricting the amount of time for both horse and rider on a practice course. While there are two indoor facilities, locally, booking them in advance is rather difficult during the winter months. Backlogs are quite the norm.
The horses, though, are rather game for a ride regardless of the cold and snow. With crafted practice sessions, my daughters are able to get the time they need with the horses.

While today isn’t the best day for a practice session with snow and temperatures in the teens, tomorrow will be better with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 50s.
