For most of Monday afternoon, it seemed our grilling plan would have to be postponed. A fairly strong thunderstorm passed through the area early in the afternoon. Though the skies partially cleared, dark clouds lingered back towards the mountains. Those dark clouds eventually rolled in, bringing another round of heavy rain. Our chances of grilling out didn’t seem to be good. The skies finally began to clear just before sunset. “Late, but fashionable,” as some would say.

The determination to proceed with the grilling plan was to celebrate a good ride by the girls at a week-long equestrian competition in Northern California. It doesn’t get any better than sharing laughter, stories, and good food with your family on a summer evening.
