One of the garden colors we have during the summer months is purple. The plant providing the color is commonly known as “bozo”, in which the flowers are used in leis. It’s scientific name is Trifolium pratense, a red clover. The flower is rather small and consists of spikes.
While it can be used as an ornamental ground cover or bedding plant, it also does well as a container plant and in a planter box. Our experience with the bozo plant is that it does well in direct light and shady areas. If in direct light, make sure the plant is well watered.
And, yes, we’re looking forward to some gardening when it warms.
