It’s a bittersweet day.

Today, we mark the 8th anniversary of the passing of our Siamese kitty girl, Pebbles. She was an extremely loyal cat. Being her chosen person, she would squeeze herself onto my lap – even if it was occupied by her littermate brother, Dino. Every evening, Pebbles would have her share of whatever what was for dinner on her little plate. Of course, when spicy food was on the menu, she would skip it.
Though Pebbles lived a long life of 16 years, her loss was strongly felt. Dino, quite talkative, had become less vocal. He adjusted to the change, taking in the extra love and attention given to him.

The day, however, is one for rejoicing also. It is the 24th anniversary of when we welcomed a very handsome, 6-week-old kitten named, Dino. He was an inquisitive one, favoring a narrow but warm space next to the dishwasher. When he discovered the comforts of the bed, Dino knew how to take most of it when he slept. While Dino didn’t know what to make of Pebbles when she joined our family 10 days later, it didn’t take long for them to readjust to one another. While equally loyal, Dino was very much a lover boy. A great cat for the nearly 19 years he was part of our family.
